Michael Fisher was recently honored by Penn State’s Department of Landscape Architecture as an outstanding alumnus. The Alumni Award was in recognition of his long history of giving back to his alma mater.

Volunteering is second nature to Mike and has been part of his professional life since his time at Penn State, where he was instrumental in the founding of the Landscape Architecture Student Society. As a graduate, Mike was elected and has served on the Landscape Architecture Alumni Advisory Board for seven years and also serves on the College of Arts and Architecture Alumni Advisory Board. As an owner of Site Resources, he continues to support the department, providing enrichment to its students as a mentor, event sponsor, Career Day participant, contributor to the College of Arts and Architecture’s student scholarship fund, and an employer of interns and graduates.

To Mike, volunteering his time and resources to his alma mater is a small way to give back to a fantastic department, which was instrumental in shaping who he is today.
